Spiritual Life in Tumultuous Times: March 1, 2010

Tumultuous times demand strength. We must deepen and widen our minds and spirits. We must open our hearts. I choose to participate in Jean Houston's West Coast Mystery School as one way to learn and to be. For the next little while, I am experimenting with the daily meditations provided by Peggy Rubin, Jean's principal teaching associate. Each day I will read the meditation and share my brief reflection as my own prayer of love to the earth. You are welcome to join me!

Earth Spirit/Human Spirit
The invitation for these daily Meditations is to make an offering of words to the world every day, in love and praise - and gratitude - and as a way of anchoring our spiritual work to a potent center by noticing how many glorious gifts the earth offers to us every moment.

The inspiration for pondering each day comes from nine magnificent books, each of which focuses on a particular religion and its approach ato, understanding of, and honor for the Earth and Her ecology. The series of "Religions of the World of Ecology," published by Harvard University Press, consists of nine volumes, the result of years of profound study and research.
