"If you don't take care of your body, where else will you live?"

This message is from the edge that divides life and death.

This past week, a friend had surgery which revealed a cancerous tumor that was removed along with part of her colon. The doctor said the tumor was slow growing and had not spread into lymph nodes - thankfully.

This might have been prevented by having a colonoscopy at least every 10 years, starting at age 50. Colon cancer in early stages is silent - no symptoms. A colonoscopy might reveal a polyp, which is easily removed during the colonoscopy. That same polyp uninterrupted might become a cancerous tumor over time.

"If you don't take care of your body, where else will you live?" That's a quote from Linda Willis, EdD, nutritionist and creator of The Balanced Weigh, a very effective system for healthy weight loss. I am currently in her program, and have lost 45 pounds - but that's for another Message from another Edge!

Have you had your colonoscopy?
